Go Scooteños!

Left to right: Anthony (2006 Vespa GT200), Tiffany (2006 Vespa LX150), Jason (1977 Foxi GT Moped), and David aka "Scooterman" (Yamaha Vino 125). Not pictured: Marty (2007 Yamaha Vino 50).

Thanks to all who attended the inaugural meeting of the Modesto Scooteños scooter club on July 29. This post is a tad late due to a trip to New York right after the meeting where the hotel wanted to charge me 12 dollars a night for internet (no, thanks), swiftly followed by the soldering of my vas deferens. Anyway, I'm off the "Vitamin V" now, so I'll try to remember what was discussed at the meeting . . .

Erm . . . let's see now . . .

What is a scooter? Two wheels. Engine of some sort. Mopeds are ok, but not those kids' skateboards with lawn mower engine thingies.

Possible Scooteño ride around town sometime. Hmm. Ok, but what about this: http://www.modbee.com/local/story/354282.html ?

Getting a place in whatever the next parade in town is. Christmas? (Apparently, the local Vespa dealer had some Vespa riders in the July 4th parade, and they may be open to non-Vespans joining them next time?)

Next meeting. In about a month? Same place?

Erm . . . what else? Help me out here, people--I think my urologist might have taken out a large part of my brain through a small hole in my scrotum.

¡Hola, Scooteños!

Welcome to the brand new Modesto Scooteños blog!

Scoot over to Tresetti's on 11th Street for the Scooteños inaugural meeting on Tuesday July 29th at 6:00 pm.

Come with or without a scooter . . . and experience the newest addition to Modesto's rich and diverse gang culture. Over an expensive glass of wine. Or a $4.50 pint of Newcastle Brown.

Be there and be square. Or not. Up to you.

(Agenda suggestions welcome below.)

Your host,
Marty Baker, Scooteño-at-Law.
